Andrew Drinkall is currently Director of Choral Activites and Fine Arts Chair at Troy Buchanan High School.  Since accepting the position in 1997, the Troy Buchanan Choral Department has grown significantly.  At Troy, Andrew conducts the Women’s Choir, Intermediate Men’s and Women’s choirs, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Men’s Choir, “Express” show choir , “Sound Wave” show choir, and an all male a cappella group, “Dodecaphonics.”  Drinkall also directs the all-school musicals.  Drinkall maintains a private voice studio with over 15 students in his “spare time.”  Under his direction, the Troy Buchanan Choirs have received consistent superior ratings at festivals, contests, and are regularly named “Grand Champion” at many show choir competitions throughout the United States.  In 2005 the TBHS Men’s Choir was selected to perform at the MMEA state music convention in Osage Beach, Missouri.

           
           

Mr. Drinkall holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a Master of Music Education degree from Vander Cook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois.  Andrew was awarded the “Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year” award in 2003, as well as being named to “Who’s Who Among High School Teachers” for the last 12 years.  Drinkall has served as the Choral Vice President for the Northeast District of MMEA.  Andrew also has served as an Assistant Director for the Midwest European Honor Choir, touring England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and most recently, the Czech Republic.  Drinkall served two years as the ACDA R&S Chair for Missouri show choir.  He is currently a member of ACDA, MMEA and MSTA.
